Utility billing.
Manage customer accounts, service records and billing for your utility organization in one workspace. Keep billing in N3XRA, or connect QuickBooks Online as your accounting source.
An initial working release. An organization administrator can enable it in the portal. Online payments are not enabled.
A workspace for utility operations
Follow an account from its meter reading to its invoice.
Connect customers to service accounts and meters. Enter cumulative readings, review calculated usage, and create a draft invoice using your saved rates or a manual amount.
Review the draft before issuing it. Record cash, cleared checks or bank payments already received, with the invoice balance updated in the same workspace.

Choose your accounting source
N3XRA on its own.
QuickBooks when you need it.
Manage billing in N3XRA
Create customer and service accounts, keep meter readings, generate invoices, and record payments already received. QuickBooks is not required.
Use QuickBooks Online
Authorize your existing company to retrieve customer balances, invoices and payment history. QuickBooks remains the source for those accounting records; manage changes there and refresh the portal.
Connecting QuickBooks does not automatically change the accounting source. An administrator makes that choice after the first import. Outstanding balances must be reconciled before switching.
Included in early access
Give staff and customers the right view.
- Meter readings and usage
- Enter readings by meter, or review and import a CSV mapped from your READy export. The first reading establishes a baseline; later readings calculate gallons used.
- Customer account access
- Use your organization’s branded login. Customer account creation is a portal setting. An administrator verifies and links each customer to the right utility account before billing history becomes visible.
- Invoices and received payments
- Review invoice totals, due dates, balances and status. Customers can view their linked usage, invoices and payment history. Recording an offline payment does not charge a card or move money.
- Organization administration
- Enable Utility Management for each organization separately. Workspaces and customer access stay separate, and disabling the product preserves its stored records.
Before you get started
Does this require a QuickBooks subscription?
No. N3XRA can manage utility accounts and invoicing independently. To connect QuickBooks, your organization needs an existing QuickBooks Online company and an administrator who can authorize access.
Can customers pay online yet?
Online payment processing is not enabled in this release. Staff can record payments already received. The payment provider and checkout flow will be added separately.
Is billing automatic?
No. Staff review and issue invoices. Bills, emails and payments are not sent automatically. QuickBooks refreshes are manual in this release.
How do we enable it?
Open Organization Admin, find Utility Management, and select Enable Utility Management. Your private workspace is created without adding customer records, setting rates or issuing bills. Organization administrators manage the workspace.
